Nortel VPN Router Installation — VPN Router 2700

Configuring the management IP address

You use the serial interface to assign the VPN Router 2700 a management IP

address and subnet mask so that you can then use a Web browser for management.

To configure the management IP address using the serial interface:

1 Turn on the terminal or PC.

Configure the terminal or PC as follows:

• 9600 baud

• 8 data bits

• 1 stop bit

•no parity

• no flow control

2 Connect the serial cable (supplied with the VPN Router 2700) from the

gateway’s serial port to a terminal or to the communications port on a PC.

3 On the PC, start HyperTerminal or another terminal emulation program, and

press Enter.

The Nortel VPN Router screen appears.
