IP Trunk 3.01 (and later) traffic engineering 99
Calculate the number of IP Trunk 3.01 (and later) ports required
IP Trunk 3.01 (and later) TIE trunks are provisioned based on average
busy-hour traffic tables, using the calculated amount of voice and fax
traffic between IP Trunk 3.01 (and later) nodes. Table 10 "Trunk traffic
– Poisson 1% blocking Grade of Service" (page 99) shows the number
of trunks required based on average busy hour CCS for a 1% blocking
Grade of Service. Table 11 "Trunk traffic – Poisson 10% blocking Grade of
Service" (page 100) shows the number of trunks required based on average
busy-hour CCS for a 10% blocking Grade of Service.
A lower Grade of Service, such as P.10, might be preferred if overflow
routing is available through the PSTN, circuit-switched VPN, or IP Trunk
3.01 (and later) TIE trunks.
