Feature operation
The operator can press the Break-In key either before or after dialing the
destination DN. Break-In operates slightly differently in these two situations,
as described below.
Post-Dial Break-In
For post-dial break-in
Step Action

The attendant answers an incoming external call.

The attendant dials the destination DN.

The attendant receives the busy tone (unless the destination DN
allows Camp-On or Call Waiting).

The attendant presses the Break-In key.

If allowed, the attendant joins the call on the destination DN
to announce the incoming call and request that other parties
disconnect. (See Attendant console break-in states for an
explanation of console break in states.)
